From gigantic stone Hindu and Buddhist statues, to ancient Indonesian treasures, to bejeweled Balinese weapons, the museum is a captivating experience. Comprised of daily life artifacts from different regions of Indonesia, the collection explores the diversity of Indonesian culture through time.

  • How can I reach National Museum of Indonesia ?

    To visit the National Museum of Indonesia, it's highly recommended to use either a taxi or bus. Jakarta's traffic can be hard to navigate, especially if you are a first-time visitor. If you choose to take a bus, we recommend the Trans Jakarta Busway for the most comfortable experience. Take the Blok M to Kota Tua bus route and stop at the National Monument (Monas) bus station. The museum will be across the street.

    From the Classical-era Archeological Collection, with Hindu-Buddhist relics and statues, to the Ethnography Collection with exquisite objects from all over Indonesia, the National Museum features seven fascinating collections The Prehistoric Collection studies the country's earliest inhabitants, while the History Collection focuses on colonization-period artifacts. In addition, the museum features an Indonesian Geography Collection, a currency-focused Numismatic Collection, and an ancient Ceramics Collection.
